Stephen Curry Leads the Way
The Golden State Warriors are poised to make another run at the NBA championship in the 2023-24 season. The team returns a core group of players who led them to four titles in the past eight years, including Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.
Curry, the two-time NBA MVP, is one of the greatest shooters in NBA history. He led the league in scoring last season, averaging 32.0 points per game. Thompson, a five-time All-Star, is one of the best three-point shooters in the league. Green, a four-time All-Star, is a versatile defender and playmaker.
In addition to their core trio, the Warriors have added several key pieces to their roster. Andrew Wiggins, acquired in a trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2020, has emerged as a star in his own right. He averaged 17.2 points per game last season and was named to the All-Defensive First Team.
The Warriors also signed free agent Kevon Looney to a three-year contract extension this offseason. Looney, a seven-year veteran, is a solid rebounder and defender. He played a key role in the Warriors' championship run last season.
